Dining at Disney World

There are so many options for dinning and so much that can affect the way you dine at Disney World.

Disney World offers a wide variation of dining; signature dining, fine dining, character dining, table service, quick service, snack carts and much more.  This is a lot of food to navigate and we want to make your dining plans just as magical as the rest of your vacation.

Here is some of the general information about dining at Disney World.  When booking your Disney World vacation with us we will go through these options and how they work into your personalized vacation and your budget.

Mobile Ordering

Order Meals and Snacks from Anywhere!

Whether you’re on your way to a thrilling attraction, enjoying the magic of an exciting parade, or finding yourself directly in front of a mouth-watering dining location you’d like to try, Disney wants to make it easier for you to order, pay for and pick up fresh food, snacks and desserts throughout Walt Disney World Resort. All you need is your phone and the My Disney Experience app.

Order and Prepay Using Our App

First, select the "+" on the bottom center of your screen, and choose “Order Food.” Then, you will be able to pick an available mobile order location, set your arrival time and choose the items you wish to order. You can even customize certain menu items to your taste. After you’ve reviewed your selections, you will be able to pay for your order using a credit card, debit card, Disney Gift Card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card, Apple Pay or Disney dining plan.

Let Them Know When You Arrive

Once you’re at the mobile order location during your designated arrival time, just select the “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” button so the kitchen can begin making your order.

Pick Up Your Order

You’ll receive a notification from the app when your food is ready at the counter with the “Mobile Order Pick Up” sign.

Mobile ordering is now available at more than 60 locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, so you can spend less time waiting in line for food during your visit to the theme parks and Disney Springs.

Reservations

Guests with a Valid Disney Resort Hotel Reservation: Make reservations for your entire length of stay (for up to a 10-night stay) up to 60 days in advance of your arrival! This can help you enjoy streamlined vacation planning, since you can make all your reservations on the same day—rather than checking availability day after day.

All Other Guests: Make reservations up to 60 days in advance of each day of the meal.

At approximately 6:00 AM daily, new reservation booking windows become available for select Walt Disney World restaurants.

To dine at an in-park table-service restaurant, you need a confirmed dining reservation for the total number of Guests, regardless of age—plus, you need a theme park reservation and valid admission for the same park on that same date for each Guest ages 3 and up.

Please be aware that if you cancel a restaurant reservation, your previously scheduled reservation time will immediately be made available to another Guest.

Some offerings, restaurants, and other experiences may be limited in capacity, while other experiences may remain closed.

2024 Dining Plans

Disney World has brought back the Dining Plan add on offer.  After being gone for 3 long years a lot has changed about the way the plans work now.

Now you can add a dining plan to Walt Disney World packages that include a Disney Resort hotel stay with arrivals on or after January 9, 2024.

They offer two tiers of plans as of right now; The Standard Dining Plan and The Quick-Service Dining Plan.

We do hope that one day Disney will bring back the Deluxe Dining Plan but no word in sight on that one.

Ask about the current rates for the two dining plans; as prices may change through out the year and some may include discounts.

When requesting a quote, we will help you decide if adding a Disney Dining Plan is right for your vacation.

Linked here is a full break down on each dining plan, what is and isn’t included.

Character Dining

“Character meals” are dining experiences in which Disney characters meet and greet guests in the restaurant. Disney pals generally travel from table to table, stopping to interact with each party for a hug, photo, autograph, or possibly a conversation.  This is a great way to get up close with some of your favorite Disney characters.

The following character dining locations have returned to normal operation! That means you can take close pictures, high five, and hug your favorite Disney characters.

The locations are…

  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT (Though characters can vary, guests can typically look forward to meeting Princesses such as Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Tiana, Princess Aurora, and Ariel)

  • Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald)

  • Cinderella’s Royal Table featuring Disney Princesses in Magic Kingdom

  • Cape May Cafe featuring Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Disney’s Beach Club Resort (Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy at breakfast)

  • Hollywood and Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Roadster Goofy at breakfast and Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and sometimes Pluto at other meals)

  • Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie)

  • Garden Grill in EPCOT (Mickey, Pluto, and Chip ‘n Dale)

  • Artist Point — Story Book Dining with Snow White at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort (Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and The Evil Queen)

  • Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy)

  • The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom (Winnie the Pooh and pals such as Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet)

  • ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (Meet Mickey, Stitch, Lilo, and Pluto during breakfast)

Dinner Shows

At the present time, there is only ONE “dinner show,” and that’s the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.

In between skits and song standards, chow down on all-you-care-to-enjoy fried chicken and smoked BBQ pork ribs, as well as a tossed green salad, cowboy beans, fresh-baked cornbread, macaroni-and-cheese and creamy coleslaw. And be sure to save room for the grand finale… strawberry shortcake!

Unlimited draft beer, wine and sangria are available for Guests 21 years of age and older (proper ID required). Soft drinks are also included.

There are typically 3 showing times at 4PM, 6:15PM, and 8:30PM. And there are three seating categories to choose from Category 1: $74 for adults/$44 for Children ages 3 to 9, Category 2: $69 for adults/$40 for Children ages 3 to 9, Category 3: $66 for adults/$39 for Children ages 3 to 9. Pre-payment in full is required.

We do hope that Disney brings back the other Diner Shows and will keep checking in and updating ast they do.  Make sure to check with your travel agents about Fireworks Dining Packages that may be available during your vactation.

Disney World & Outside Food & Drinks

I'm pleased to tell you that guests are ALLOWED to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverage items into the park for self-consumption, provided they are NOT in glass containers and do not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control and do not have pungent odors.

Loose ice & dry ice is also NOT permitted in the theme parks, so be sure to pack either reusable ice packs or ice in a sealed bag to keep your perishable items nice and cool.  We like to freeze a couple water bottles to act as ice packs and then have water bottles at the end of the day that are still ice cold.

While there does not appear to be size limitations for personal coolers within the Disney Resort hotel rooms, there are restrictions when it comes to the theme parks and water parks.  Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are NOT allowed in any theme park or water park.
